We've got some exciting news to share! This November, Hugsy is going live on Kickstarter. We are preparing an awesome campaign to spread the Hugsy love around the world. So... very very soon we will start selling the Hugsy home care line to parents, caregivers and gift buyers all over the world!
Hugsy is part of an exciting collaboration between Kickstarter, the Dutch Design Foundation and several great Dutch Design projects. The projects that take part in this setup will be visible on a special landing page on Kickstarter and will be showcased during the Dutch Design Week, this October in our hometown of Eindhoven. The timing is perfect: around that time, we will receive another prestigious Design Award (can you tell that we're excited?!).
Getting the production line up and running
So, why are we going for Kickstarter? Well, developing a high quality product isn't cheap. We don't want to make any sacrifices on either safety or quality. The textiles will be all GOTS-certified and produced in the EU and in a way that doesn't burden the planet or the people who are sewing the Hugsy Pouch. The Hugsy Heartbeat is developed and will be made in the Netherlands according to all the safety requirements in the US and EU. Kickstarter will be a great opportunity for us to get our production line up and running. Not just for our first products, but also for the future.
Our future ambitions
Hugsy wants to become a sustainable business and has many more plans and ideas! We're still working on the Hugsy Hospital and will continue testing that in Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the Netherlands. This process, as you might understand, is more complicated and will take longer. Also, we plan to extend our product line and work towards being THE global leader in parent-child bonding products. We're adding our first new item to our product range with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, so stay tuned.
Cheer for us!
We really hope we can count on you to help us reach as many parents as possible.
